Please note: all performances by the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra (GRSO) take place in DeVos Performance Hall, Grand Rapids, MI, unless otherwise noted. 

 

March 2-3 GRSO, 8 pm.  Music by Prokofiev, Copland and Vaughan-Williams. 

March 4, Detroit Chamber Winds, 3 pm Kirk in the Hills Refectory, Bloomfield Hills, MI.  Music for brass ensembles by Morley, Dahl, Scheidt, Shostakovich, Gabrieli, Hunt and Husa. 

March 8, Central Michigan Trumpet Septet compete in the quarterfinal round of the National Trumpet Competition, University of North Texas, Denton, TX.  They will perform In Holberg's Time by Edvard Grieg, arr. by Mueller.

March 14, GRSO, 10 am and 7:30 pm, Dogwood Center for the Performing Arts, Fremont, MI.  

March 23-24, GRSO, 8 pm.  Music by Strauss (Ein Heldenleben!), Mozart, and Guarnieri. 

March 27, CMU Trumpet Ensembles and Trombone Choir Concert, 8 pm Staples Family Concert Hall,  Mount Pleasant, MI.  

April 13-14, GRSO, 8 pm.  Music by Ravel, Falla and Villa Lobos. 

April 20, GRSO, 8 pm Carnegie  Hall, New York, NY.  Music by Ravel, Falla and Villa Lobos.  

May 11, Lansing Symphony Orchestra, 8 pm, Wharton Center for the Performing Arts, Lansing, MI.  Guest Principal Trumpet for Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky / Ravel.

 

May 19, BlueWater Chamber Orchestra, 7:30 pm First Baptist Church, Cleveland Heights, OH.  Music by Bach, Respighi and  Corigliano.  

 

May 20, BlueWater Chamber Orchestra, 3 pm Gamble Auditorium, Baldwin Wallace University,  Berea, OH. 

September 14-15, GRSO, 8 pm.  Music by Bernstein, Barber, and Beethoven. 

September 19, GRSO Brass and Percussion, 7 pm, Rosa Parks Circle, Grand Rapids, MI.  ArtPrize Opening Ceremony. 

September 21-23, GRSO, 8 pm (3 on Sunday).  Music of Paul McCartney and the Beatles, with John Pizzarelli.  

September 29, A New World: Intimate Music from Final Fantasy, 7:30 pm, Rackham Hall, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI.  Chamber ensemble playing music from this popular, long-running video games series.

October 4, Italian trumpeter Ivano Ascari in recital, 8 pm, Staples Family Concert Hall, Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, MI.  I will perform John Williams With Malice Toward None with pianist Zhao Wang and, with Ivano, give the world premiere of Evan Ware's American Apocalypse for two trumpets. 

October 12, GRSO, 10 am & 8 pm. St. Cecilia Music Center. Music by Buxtehude, Gabrieli, and Bach (Orchestral Suite #3). 

October 13, GRSO, 8 pm, Miller Fine Arts Center, Hope College, Holland, MI.  Music by Buxtehude, Gabrieli, and Bach.

October 18, Lansing Symphony Orchestra, 7:30 pm, Wharton Center for the Performing Arts, Lansing, MI.  Guest Principal Trumpet, including Suite #2 from DeFalla's Three Cornered Hat and Respighi's Pines of Rome

October 23, Trumpet Ensemble and Trombone Choir Concert, 7:30 pm, Staples Family Concert Hall, Mt. Pleasant, MI.  The trumpet ensembles will play music by Panufnik, Gabrieli, Grieg, Morales, and Biber.  My predecessor, Dr. Dennis Horton will be a special guest conducting his arrangement of Grieg's The Last Spring. 

November 2-3, GRSO, 8 pm.  Music by Leonard Bernstein, featuring the Symphony no. 2, The Age of Anxiety, Slava, and Candide. 

November 7, Ensemble Montage, 7:30 pm, Calvin College Performing Arts Center, Grand Rapids, MI.  I am performing as a guest with this chamber ensemble performing adventuresome new music by Andy Akiho, Timo Andres, and John Cage. 

November 17, GRSO, 3 pm.  Family Concert featuring the animated movie The Snowman.

November 29, GRSO, 7:30 pm.  The movie Home Alone with the orchestra playing John Williams' score.

December 1, GRSO, 7:30 pm, Holiday Pops at Wyoming High School.

December 6-9, GRSO (various times) Holiday Pops.

December 12, GRSO, 7:30 pm, Holiday Pops at Greenville High School.

December 19-20, GRSO, 7:30 pm, Cirque de la Symphonie
